Newsletter 04 October 2011

Hello, it has been a very busy summer for us and we are pleased to share with you what we have been up to…

Brighton

Online Focus and Open’11
This time last year we were working on a brand new identity and website for the Brighton Photo Fringe. Photo Fringe have commissioned Hexaplex again, this time to design all the publicity for two new exiting projects.

Online Focus will be growing and evolving over the next 12 months, into a final crowd sourced exhibition. The Open’11 will be an exhibition and series of events that result from an open submission for curators and artists. Selected Curators will work with mentor curator Charlotte Cotton (writer and curator, Creative Director, National Media Museum, London) to develop an exhibition in dialogue with the selected artists.

STEIM – Patterns + Pleasure Festival
The identity for the Patterns + Pleasure festival Part one of the ongoing work on the new identity for Steim in collaboration Remco van Bladel and Rob van den Nieuwenhuizen. Working as a team we developed an identity that was used for, flyers, posters, a newspaper, a festival trailer and the website. The aim was to create a bold new face for the 42 year old institution, incorporating the Crackle Type Tool made for Steim by Luna Maurer and Letterror and reflecting the experimental and DIY feeling of Steim.

The website also included a live-blog that was updated continually during the festival with reviews and impressions. A selection of these posts was then used to create an offline version as a memento for those who visited.

Witte de With
New website for the Rotterdam center for contemporary art in collaboration with Remco van Bladel. The new website is home to the extensive archive of over 20 years of activities and publications of Witte de With, and the ever extending program and a webshop where you can order the publications.

The design makes use of adaptive styles, optimizing the content for multiple browsing environments including mobile. The webfont used on the site is a custom version of Mercury developed by Radim Peško.

We were asked to redesign Steinbeisser’s identity and logo for the Steinbeisser website, designed together with Felicia Nitzsche. Steinbeisser is a pan-european but Amsterdam based platform for contemporary jewelry, installation art, photography and all things connected. Currently they have an ongoing exhibition at the Lloyd Hotel.
